With reality being exaggerated and made unfamiliar and the powerful
contrasts in their complementary effect determining the colours'
textural structure, there remains a sense of an almost magical
and archaic silence which weaves together backgrounds lost in
a dreamlike realm with the textural reality of the individual
foreground objects to a fully developed whole
